About the school
Keck Graduate Institute did not happen by chance. The Claremont College was est. in 1925 by James Blaisdell. He was committed in starting up other schools as more needs were identified. Seventy-two years later, it was Dr. Henry E. Riggs who acknowledged the need that would lead to the start of Keck Graduate School. What was the need? It was the need for scientists and engineers who can help decipher scientific discoveries into realistic applications that helped to improve people’s health. Therefore, in 1997 with a $50 million grant from the W. M. Keck Foundation, Keck Institute was born. Keck is the only graduate institute that offers first entry into graduate level; application based scientific research and education to its students. About the campus There is no campus housing or meal plan at Keck Graduate Institute. You will have to talk to student services or another counseling service and they will help you find housing for you. This is best done before you start school so everything is ready for you when you get there. There are Host Families that rent rooms to students. There are many restaurants that offer student discounts for meals. You can find all this out when you talk the school. Many students get together and share a house to bring down their expenses. About the courses The top majors students take is Biological and Physical Science.
