About the school
Keck Graduate Institute did not happen by chance. The Claremont College was est. in 1925 by James Blaisdell. He was committed in starting up other schools as more needs were identified. Seventy-two years later, it was Dr. Henry E. Riggs who acknowledged the need that would lead to the start of Keck Graduate School. What was the need? It was the need for scientists and engineers who can help decipher scientific discoveries into realistic applications that helped to improve people’s health. Therefore, in 1997 with a $50 million grant from the W. M. Keck Foundation, Keck Institute was born. Keck is the only graduate institute that offers first entry into graduate level; application based scientific research and education to its students.
