About the college
West Hills College has a long and rich history that started in 1932. In that year, the Coalinga Union High School District wanted to build a college. A campus was built near the city of Coalinga and then in 1969 the name was changed to the name that it goes by today. This was known as Kings County Center and then was changed to the name of West Hills College-Lemoore. The doors for the new campus in Lemoore opened in 2002 and has been going strong ever since. Campus The Lemoore campus has 18 classrooms with a science wing that is absolutely amazing. It is a state of the art building called Collaboratory and has the award of being the most technologically advanced library in Kings County. Also on campus are administrative buildings, an outdoor amphitheater, student services and a multipurpose center. Having a campus in Lemoore is great because students can enjoy the beauty of California with the state’s bigger cities just a drive away. Courses The courses at the Lemoore location give students a variety of options for their educational journey. Students can choose from academic and vocational programs that give degrees or certificates upon completion. The programs include administration of justice-law enforcement, art, biology, engineering, geology, mathematics, physical education and a few others. The degrees earned can be Associate in arts or associate in science. Community education is also available with educational courses and various activities. At West Hills, students can work and earn college credits that can transfer to 4-year universities. Students can also take classes and in degrees through engineering, English lab, health and math. At West Hills, they prepare you for your future and it is going to be a rewarding one.
