San Diego Miramar College prepares its students with an atmosphere that includes diversity, innovation and excellence in education. Miramar College first opened its doors in 1969 as a training institution for firefighters and those in law enforcement. The college has a family environment where the faculty and staff know your name. You are not just a number here at Miramar. At the college you can train for a new career, update your current career skills or train for a bachelor’s or associate’s degree. Campus The beautiful and culturally diverse city of Los Angeles is the home for the Miramar College campus. The campus is easy to reach from the I-15 freeway and is set upon 125 acres of academic excellence. Within the past 10 years, the college has updated its campus with a high tech computer business center, library, police academy and child development center. The campus also offers a digital media lab, online classes and an athletic complex that will be the largest in San Diego County when it is completely finished. Courses At Miramar College, their academic programs are categorized into divisions of various fields of study. Those include business, math and science, liberal arts, library and technology, public safety and technical careers and workforce initiatives. Students can take classes in accounting, real estate, geology, speech, programs that lead to careers as an emergency medical technician, automotive technology or diesel technology.
