Newberry School of Beauty is one of the leading cosmetology schools in California. They have been training students for a career in beauty since 1949. Their reputation is of excellence and quality. Each program qualifies each student for the California State board of barbering and Cosmetology licensing exam. They are a private, for profit institute. They offer onsite training by some of the most qualified instructors that have graduated from Newberry themselves. You will never find anything out of date. You will learn about the most innovated products and preparation. They do not offer on campus housing or meals. The school has staff that will help you find off campus housing and a list of cafes who give student discounts. They have ample parking for the students but do not guarantee any security if anything is stolen and they tell you to keep vehicles locked up. You will need to speak with student services about the financial aid they have to offer those who qualify. About the courses The main courses are Esthetician, which is 600 hours, Manicurist which is a 600 hours course, Cosmetology is a 1600-hour course, and teacher training is a 600-hour course. The Newberry has a salon that they have students do on site training and offer haircuts, manicures, perms and much more to the public and the students and their families.
