About the college
When it comes to the growing beauty field and the careers that are involved one name comes to mind. That name is Marinello Schools of Beauty. The community of schools was founded in 1905 after Ruth Maurer discovered a way to make face cream and sell it worldwide. After 2 years of being a sales representative, Ruth opened the doors of the beauty college and today there are 41 campus locations in five states. Campus In southern California, there is a campus located in the city of Inglewood. The city is close to the Los Angeles International Airport and Culver City. The campus has the beauty of California, a large area with plenty of industry opportunities and a faculty full of beauty professionals. The school offers a salon that is open to the public where students spend time training. Once the required classroom work is completed students perform procedures that they have studied about and performed on mannequin heads on the public. This training is supervised by qualified professionals. Courses The courses at the Inglewood location give students cosmetology and manicuring programs. Each program gives the future cosmetologists and manicurists student kits with the tools of the trade to ensure proper training and success. The cosmetology program is broken down into two studies. One is general cosmetology with 1600 hours required with a focus on hair, nails, esthetics, sanitation, and salon business practices. The other study is a barbering program with 1500 hours that includes haircut and style, shaves and hairpieces. The manicuring program is 400-clocked hours with a focus on nail care, nail art, disorders/diseases, and business management. Each program can lead students to exciting careers in the beauty field. Graduates of the school go on to rewarding careers, but still keep in touch with the school and the community where they started.
