About the college
Claremont Graduate University was founded in 1925. The university is a unique one of a kind student learning center. It is a member of The Claremont Colleges, which is a team of seven colleges. CGU is the elite school in that it offers students graduate only, research extensive learning and it is the only university of its kind. The mission at CGU is to not only teach its students with the best in faculties, but to also do their part in the community outreach activities that focus on poverty and other issues. Campus The campus at Claremont Graduate University is located in the city of Claremont on a beautiful landscape of trees that line the entire university. 19 acres of land encompass the campus. The school offers nine individual departments for students to learn and research while attending Claremont. There is one independent building among the nine departments that prides itself with the awarding of master’s and doctoral degrees. The campus at CGU has an amazing location with downtown LA just 35 miles away. Courses With such an extensive course list, it is easy to see why CGU is a great school to attend. The nine schools of academic interest offered include Arts and Humanities, Behavioral/Organizational Science, Community and Global Health, Drucker School of Management, Educational Studies, Information Systems and Technology. Others are Mathematical Sciences, Politics and Economics, Religion and Independent Departments including Botany and Africana Studies. Transdisciplinary studies, Death and Dying and Environmental Studies, are also available. At Claremont, the educational possibilities are endless.
