About the college

In 1983, the Emperor’s College of Traditional Oriental Medicine is one of the oldest and largest oriental schools in the country. The mission of the Emperor’s College is to help shape and mold the future of medicine. The faculty is full of those who are the best in their field and now they are passing their knowledge on to the future leaders of oriental medicine. The school offers a yearly college retreat and educational support like tutoring for their students.

Campus

In Santa Monica, California, the Emperor’s College of Traditional Medicine can be found and is the only college of acupuncture in the city. The campus is a 2-story building with the herb Dispensary and the community clinic located on the first floor. On the second floor students will find the library, 6 classrooms, the administrative office, bookstore and both student and faculty lounges. The classrooms are state of the art with anatomical models and acupuncture meridian charts with audio and visual equipment. The education is hands on to prepare students for the real world and their awaiting career.

Courses

The Emperor’s College offers students a Master’s of Traditional Oriental Medicine program. The college also has a doctoral degree that can lead students to enhance their clinical skills for research or teaching and work in the campus clinic and use real world experiences with acupuncture patients. Coursework includes cardiology, dermatology, and orthopedics. Students can also be a part of internships and work in clinical rotations in hospitals. The college has a learning garden where students can work closely with Chinese medicinal plants and herbs and the part that they play in the medical field.

Emperor’s College offers students an education in oriental medicine that can help the medical field grow. Graduates can learn the fundamentals of Chinese medicine and help their community at the same time.
