About the college

Cal State Northridge has come a long way since its start way back in the 1950’s. In 1952, a college was to be founded in Baldwin Hills and legislators rallied to get a 4 year university in the San Fernando Valley. Three short years later and Cal State Northridge is still going strong. The school has an extensive course program with strong work in the community. Northridge strives to give its students the best in education, whether they are first time freshmen or adults wanting to further their education.

Campus

The campus in Northridge, California makes student life an amazing adventure. Its offers students housing and dining so that the most basic needs are not too far away from their classes. The school is dedicated to helping its community and volunteering in any way that they can. There are plenty of student activities to keep busy. Aquatics, a game room and fitness center give students places to relax and get to know the student body. The University Student Union is a way for students to exercise leadership qualities and be in the know about up and coming events. Clubs and various organizations are also available to all students.

Courses

There are nine colleges within Cal State Northridge. They offer various programs and degrees within all areas of study. Students can obtain baccalaureate, master’s degrees and even teaching credentials. The colleges at Northridge divided areas of interest into various classes. Some of the colleges are humanities, science and mathematics, business and economics and health and human development.

Students at Northridge can study abroad and even attend graduate studies, research and international programs. On the 356 acre, campus there is literally something for every student to enjoy and learn the skills in to go on to a life long and rewarding career.
