About the College
The Alliant International University was created with the joining of the United States International University (USIU) and the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP). Alliant International University is an independent non-profit institution of higher education. In order to understand the history of the college you must delve into the past of the two institutions that were joined to create this college. California School of Professional Psychology The California School of Professional Psychology was established in 1969 and was the first independent graduate school of professional psychology. The school offered majors in the clinical practice of psychotherapy and assessment, community change and organizational development, community psychology, clinical psychology, developmental psychology, and child and family life. The school changed its name in 2000 to Alliant University. United States International University The United States International University was established in 1952 but did not receive this name until 1967. The college has campuses through the US and the world including such locations as England, France, Canada, and Japan. The college offered bachelors, masters, and doctoral programs in business, education, psychology, international relations, performing and visual arts. Campus The Fresno Campus is a 41,150 two-story building offering modern classrooms, two computer rooms, a teaching computer classroom, a videoconferencing center, an audiovisual services center, laboratories, and a library. Amenities found at the campus include a café snack bar, an auditorium, plaza, and beautiful landscaped grounds. The schools found at the Fresno campus include the California School of Professional Psychology, the California School of Forensic Studies, the Shirley M. Hufstedler School of Education, and the Marshall Goldsmith School of Management. This campus was the original home of the college’s forensic studies program.
