About our college
Ground was broke for St. John’s seminary in 1938 and the first cornerstone was laid on March 19, 1939. Construction continued through 1940 and over the years, there have been many different Archbishops. This Roman Catholic school is a private, not for-profit institute where the highest degree is the masters. They have an open enrollment policy and classes are less crowded than regular schools. In 2007 there were 95 students and 88 are full time. About our campus They do have on campus housing for 135 of its 88 students and 21 meals per week for the students here. As of today’s date (August 30, 2009), they have remodeled the dorms and now have two of the three buildings done. Thanks to the donations from Hannon and Doheny Foundations and the Sullivan family. There is a library where you can do research and they have a Bibliographies containing Theology, Philosophy, Scripture, Basic Church Documents. You will also be given a student email and have internet access. Over 1200 priests have been ordained from St John’s Seminary so they are having a 70th anniversary dinner and are inviting everyone. About our courses The majors that are the most common are religion and philosophy. 17 degrees were handed out for ministry and religion in 2007. They have 16 full time faculties, which 13 are men and three are women with tenure. Students will learn from some of the courses The New testament, Old testament, Ancient Philosophy, medieval Philosophy, Faith and reason, Research Skills, Catholic heritage 1,2 and 3 just to name a few.
