About the college
Shasta College was founded in 1948. Two years later the campus held its first classes where President Truman spoke. While the college has a rich history and great location for career choices in California the mission has always been the same. Shasta provides quality education through diverse programs that translate into rewarding careers. When you become a student at Shasta College, you are knighted, in a way. The college’s mascot is the knight and a life size knight was erected in 1955 and given the name “Oakey Doaks” for future generations. Campus Shasta College puts its foundation down in Redding, California and has not changed locations since. The school offers a cafeteria, restaurant, swimming pools, bookstore and various student clubs. On campus, students can enjoy an art gallery, tennis courts, musical and theatrical events and a library resource center.
