About the college

Saybrook Graduate School and Research Center was established in 1971. The school was originally called the Humanistic Psychology Institute and was part of Sonoma State University. The school is dedicated to teaching the skills that will give graduates the leadership qualities that they need to succeed in the competitive workforce and life. Saybrook prepares adults who have some professional education already and are looking for education that requires research with programs that study psychology, human science, consciousness and spirituality.

The Saybrook School campus is located in the cultural and diverse city of San Francisco. Here students have local attractions, entertainment around every corner and beaches, deserts and mountains close by. Students are never without academic and social challenges and activities. At the campus students get one on one mentoring, weeklong seminars for credit, peer training and web based courses. There is a research center at the campus for exploring every aspect of human life.

Students can choose their degree or certificate programs for their own educational pathway. Students can specialize in psychology, organizational systems, human science and mind-body medicine. Concentrations are offered at Saybrook that specialize in a particular area that is taught by well-educated faculty that are leaders in a chosen field. Students can then adapt concentrations to their core studies. The concentrations are available in consciousness/spirituality, humanistic and transpersonal psychology, integrative health studies, organizational systems and social transformation.

Saybrook offers students the ability to study at their own pace, one on one mentoring, independent research and web classes plus peer and faculty support. At Saybrook, you are not just a number. Your success matters and being part of the Saybrook community will lead you to career success and a future with no bounds.
