About the college

Just as we want beautiful hairs, nails and skin, we also want our homes to look beautiful too. The need for interior designers are in high demand and thanks to the Interior Designers Institute, there is a place for students to go and turn their creativity in to a career. Students can attend classes here while bouncing ideas off of each other, learning new design techniques and networking with the community and local industry employers.

Campus

The Interior Designers Institute is located in Newport Beach, California. Being in the heart of Orange County gives, the campus and students close proximity to the cities of LA and San Diego. There are interior design manufacturers, showrooms, retailers and design centers all close to the Newport Beach campus. The campus has drafting and design studios with up to date equipment, areas for student exhibitions, computer center and library with current information on architecture and interior design. Students also have access to fabric samples, wall coverings, carpet and tile.

Courses

Three programs of interior design are offered by the Interior Designers Institute. Students can choose from a certificate program, associate of arts degree program in interior design and a Bachelor of Arts degree program in interior design. The certificate program teaches the skills needed to design one’s own home. This program is required for the associate of arts program. Courses within the A. A. and B.A. degree programs include architecture history, commercial design, architectural drafting, design theory and color.

The Interior Designers Institute has the skills necessary to help students realize their interior design dreams. The campus has a location that gives students the ability to network with local employers in the design industry that can strengthen their resume when graduation time comes.
