About the college

The history of West Hills College dates back to 1932 when the local Coalinga Union High School District set up a college. Over the years that followed, the foundation began and the college became accepted as an institution. In 1955, a new campus was built upon Cherry Lane near the city of Coalinga and classes began one year later. Today the school is providing quality education to the future graduates of California.

Campus

The West Hills College campus in Coalinga not only has a rich history, it also has beauty and quality education. Students have access to all that California offers only a walk or drive away. On campus, there is a child development center, allied health classrooms, faculty offices, student services including financial aid and counseling, a gymnasium and weigh room, speech/arts building and conference center. The school has various athletic programs with training facilities and offices. In addition, the campus does offer housing with men and women residences.

Courses

The Coalinga campus offers students a variety of academic and vocational programs to choose from. Students can earn certificates in programs like business, child development, child support services, precision agriculture, psychiatric technician and social work. Degrees like associate in arts and associate in science can be achieved through art, biology, computer information systems, liberal arts and a list of others. The college also offers community education with activities and general education classes.

West Hills College-Coalinga has a program called Farm of the Future for those pursuing careers in agriculture.
