About the college
It opened its doors in 1952 and then it was known as The San Diego College for Women, It merged with the University for Men in 1972. The coed school has grown since the merge and has gotten several donations in the millions to help expand the University. They now offer more than 60 degrees at the bachelor’s, masters, and doctoral levels. The University is a Roman Catholic institute and was founded by reverend Charles F. Buddy who was the first bishop of the Diocese of San Diego and Mother Roselle Hill, superior vicar of the Society of the sacred Heart and is now committed to the excellence in education. About the campus The USD Tram Service help students get around the campus at various stops in their daily routine. They have Zip cars that you can use to get around without having a car. They have a meal plan for the students that fit the individual needs of each student around their schedules. There are pavilions where students get together to share with others with dining options, workspaces, and a marketplace for the students to buy things. The housing on campus is one of the best from student’s point of view. The University is dedicated to a safe living environment for their students. They have housing for 2527 of its 6719 students. Freshmen are required to live on campus. They have a 13 meal a week meal plan. About the courses University of San Diego offers more majors than many schools of the same size. The main course is for law. Some of the programs offered are Business and Management, Liberal Arts, Nursing and Emergency Medicine, just to name a few.
