About the College
Founded in 1891, this private, doctoral university has been giving students an education in law. When it was first founded, it was known as Lordsburg College. The members of the Church of the Brethren were responsible for this name. Then in 1917, the college and its community were both named La Verne. This College was first accredited by the American Bar Association in February of 2006. Now this allowed all students to take the bar exam and be practicing attorneys in any US Jurisdiction. You will find over 50 clubs and organizations at this college so they are sure to find a cause they believe in.
About the Campus
They offer housing at the University where the students have three residency halls to accommodate each group. The first one is Brandt Hall. This is for the first year students and it is a co-ed dorm style. They have rooms for two, three, and four students to share. They have a lounge with TV, pool tables, ping-pong and a refrigerator and microwave. The second one is The Oaks. This is for upper classmen and women. Mainly out of state students live here. It has five two story buildings and one three story with two and three student rooms. They have the student lounge as well. The third one is the Studebaker-Hanawalt. This is the only women’s only hall on campus. It has two, three, and four student rooms. The lounge has all the things the other two halls have.
About the courses
The departments at University of LaVerne consist of Art & Art History, Athletic Training, Biology, Chemistry, Communications, Computer Science, Creative Writing, English, French, History / Political Science, Honors Program, International Studies Institute just to name a few.
