About the College
Dr. Ying Qiu Wang founded the World center for Health, which made the foundation for the University of East West Medicine in 1990. His goal is to let the world know about Traditional Chinese medicine to be used as a medical field in its own right. In 1994 the Institute for Health and Healing was formed. Then in 1997, the University of East West Medicine was established in Sunnyvale, California. If you want to learn about healing with Traditional Medicine with acupuncture, herbal, medicine and Tai Chi and massage then this is the school for you.
About the campus
The campus is in the Silicon Valley close to shops, restaurants, and parks. The campus can be easily accessed with the buses and Cal Train Lines within close distance to the campus. The 30,000 sq ft has classrooms, library, teaching clinic, pharmacy, offices, and a lounge for the students and staff to relax. They also have Chinese Classical architecture in the garden with the pavilion gates and gardens for a relaxing area to sit and visit or just read a book. They also have an abundance of parking for their students who have their own cars. Located in Sunnyvale many students feel safe because the town has received many awards for being one of the safest cities in the U.S. Plus it has beautiful surroundings for the students to check out on their off time.
About the courses
The courses offered are from the history of the medicine to acupuncture and herbology. You will learn everything you will need to know to learn about traditional Chinese medicine. It takes 2130 hours of didactic instruction and 960 hours clinical training, for a total of 3090 hours. The courses are mainly the study and practice of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine that are conjoined with western medical sciences and practice to ingrate the two worlds.
