About the college
In 1964 the Union Institute and University was founded as a part of the community of 10 liberal arts colleges. The mission of the institute and the university is to provide quality education through enrichment programs for each individual paired with society issues and professional career choices. The school prepares older adults for their journeys of lifetime learning and service to their community and society. The education at Union provides students with critical thinking skills, multiple perspective ideals and real world practice. Campus Los Angeles, California provides the backdrop for the Union Institute and University. LA is a city full of diversity, culture, local attractions, museums, galleries, restaurants, shopping and career opportunities around every corner. The campus offers students the Gary Library, an online bookstore and career counseling. Prospective students can apply for financial aid and current students are offered help finding part time jobs so that they can earn money to help pay for their education.
