Campus

Fresno, California is the home where the Sierra Valley School of Court Reporting is located. The 16,000 square foot campus houses three buildings with dictating rooms meant to mimic the court atmosphere with a podia resembling the court bench and remote controlled light panels for voice dictations. The campus also has lecture rooms, computer labs complete with up to date software, on site library, bookstore and a student lunchroom and lounge. With rooms that resemble real world court environments students get hands on job training.

Courses

With a degree in court reporting and a license as a Certified Shorthand Reporter from Sierra Valley graduates can work in local California offices at home. Court reporting also offers flexibility with part time and full time positions. Students at Sierra Valley get training on a Stenowriter, which is a court reporting machine. Official court reporters can make up to 75,000 dollars a year while freelance reporters can earn up to 85,000 dollars or more. Court reporters can be paid a per page, per job or per appearance fee as well as their base pay.

Court reporters have financial security, jobs that are available immediately and the choice to work in private or public sectors or even as a freelance reporter. This career field is in high demand and you can be a part of this growing industry.
