About the college

Over 100 years ago a woman by the name of Ruth Maurer concocted a face cream in her basement that sold worldwide. Then in 1905 she and her husband opened the doors to the Marinello School of Beauty. The community of schools has 41 campus locations in five states. Not a bad start from a basement and the school has had the same commitment all these years: teach students cosmetology and they will succeed with local salons around the state of California.

Campus

The Burbank campus is in a prime location to local attractions, restaurants, shopping centers and the beauty and scenic landscape that California has to offer. At the campus students get the best of both worlds, educationally speaking. The Marinello School of Beauty offers classroom work with hands on salon training. The salon at the Burbank campus offers patron services where students perform the haircuts and colors, manicures, pedicures, massages and skin care procedures all under professional supervision. Students get the hands on training while learning the business side of the beauty field and customer service while building a clientele.

Courses

Programs at the Marinello School of Beauty in Burbank include cosmetology, manicuring, esthetics, master spa therapy and advanced face and body education. The cosmetology program offers studies in general cosmetology, nail care and barbering with general cosmetology requiring the 1600 clocked hours, the most at the college. The advanced education program offers courses in hair color and design, make up, skin and body care and spa business skills.

The training done at Marinello School of Beauty can lead graduates to rewarding careers as massage therapists, skin care specialists, in demand hair stylists or colorists and beyond. One day graduates could even open and operate their very own salon!
