About the college

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and in 1903 Ruth Maurer had her eye on success. She set out to make a batch of face cream for women to battle the signs of aging. Two short years later, after selling her beauty projects around the world she and her husband opened the doors to the Marinello School of Beauty named after the founder of modern cosmetology. Today the school has 41 campuses in five states and they are dedicated to providing quality education to the future cosmetologists of the world.

Campus

In Southern California there is a city called Whittier and the location for a Marinello School of Beauty campus and salon. Whittier is a city close enough to the big city lights and night life of California and far enough away for a great place to study cosmetology and enjoy the beauty that the state offers. Training at the school requires a specific amount of classroom work paired with hands on job training in the campus’ salon. Students get to perform hair cuts, colors, nail applications, make up and facials on patrons of the community with qualified supervision.

Courses

The Whittier campus offers students a massage therapy course 720 clocked hours with a diploma upon completion because there is no massage licensing in the state of California. Students will learn acupressure, Swedish massage, deep tissue and sports massage plus sanitation and business skills. The campus also offers cosmetology programs, hair care and barbering, and a manicuring program. The cosmetology programs are 1600 and 1500 clocked hour programs while the manicuring is a mere 400.

If your live is in making the world smile with a great haircut or massage, then the professionals at Marinello School of Beauty can turn that into a rewarding and success career.
