About the college
For Ruth Maurer, wife of Dr. A. A. Maurer, the dream of one day owning and running a prestigious beauty salon became a reality when she cooked a batch of face cream in her basement. The year was 1903 and just 2 short years later Marinello School of Beauty opened its doors for the first time. The school was named after Giovanni Marinello, the founder of modern cosmetology. Today the school is still going strong training a new generation of cosmetologists and offering services to the public performed by students. Campus In west California there are 2 Marinello School of Beauty campuses. The Fairfax campus is located in west Los Angeles, a city that is up to date with the latest hair style and make up trends. LA is just an ideal place for a beauty school. The city screams creativity and students have a great location for getting a job in the beauty field and close by beaches to relax at between classes. Students get hands on education from professionals in the beauty field. Once the required coursework is complete students can move onto the salon floor at the campus and perform hair cuts, styles, manicures and facials on the community. Courses A unique at Marinello School of Beauty is 1 of 7 schools that offers the CIDESCO program. The program requires 1500 clocked hours in order to complete, but gives students the highest certificate achievement that one can earn in this field. The Fairfax campus offers students programs in hair care, skin care, manicuring, massage therapy including spa treatments, teacher training and advanced course in hair color and make up.
