About the college

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and the Marinello Schools of Beauty have been creating beauty careers and brightening futures for over 100 years. In 1903, Ruth Maurer made a batch of face cream in her basement and then started selling her products all over the world. Two years passed and Ruth and her husband Dr. A. A. Maurer opened up the first Marinello School of Beauty. Today the schools are located in five US states with 41 campus locations.

Campus

The North Hollywood campus has a prime location for a school of beauty. The name Hollywood says it all. With a variety of local attractions, celebrities around every corner and a great climate it is easy to see why the Marinello School of Beauty is in such high demand. At the campus, students get to pair classroom work with hands on salon training. The salon is open to the public where students perform haircuts, manicures and pedicures, skin care procedures and other offered beauty services.

Courses

At the North Hollywood campus, the future graduates of the beauty college can learn skills in the cosmetology and manicuring fields. The cosmetology program teaches haircutting, hairstyling, color, ethnic hairstyling, skin care, make up, nail care, and salon management. Students can choose from a 1600 clocked hour course or a 1500 clocked hour course. The manicuring program requires 400-clocked hours with hands on training included. Both programs include fake board exams that are given to each student. The exams are meant to mimic the real thing and prepare students for the test.
