About the College
Harvey Mudd College is a college that is dedicated to math, science and engineering along with being a liberal arts college. They give their students a chance to see why being engineers, scientists and mathematicians can change the world and show them what it means. In the 1950’s Harvey S. Mudd and his successors founded the college. Harvey S. Mudd was an accomplished mining engineer. Mudd College does not only see people as students but as just people. They know what it means to study hard but they also get laughs from pulling pranks and having fun parties. It is not just an all work and no play kind of college. Mudd College is out to make sure their students can be themselves and have fun while trying to get a degree. Campus The campus does offer on campus housing but only during the summer. In the summer students working with the faculty members on research and for students attending the math courses can stay on the on campus housing. For students going full time there are apartments and houses students can rent off campus. The campus has the Jacobs Science Center and the F.W. Olin Science Center, Hoch-Shanahan Dining Center, Joseph B Platt Campus Center, Ronald and Maxine Linde Activities Center, Hixon Court and other hall buildings in the campus. There is also parking available on the campus. Courses The degrees offered at Harvey Mudd College are Biology, Biology/Chemistry, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Mathematics/Computer Science, Mathematical Biology, Physics, and Independent Program of Study. These courses are offered for degrees and can get you the start of your future you are looking for. The College does also offer student activities such as concerts, speaker series, art exhibits, theatre productions, sports, and trips. This gives the students a chance to be themselves and enjoy college life.
