Gnomon School of Visual Effects is a leader in training the creative side of computer graphics. With a student’s creativity, the school teaches how to harmoniously pair that with the computer software. The college was founded in 1997 and has been a leader in career training within the field of computer graphics. Their classes can help students achieve careers in 3D with a faculty team that is at their top of their game and classes that are truly state of the art. Campus The training at the Hollywood campus not only has a creative city to work in, but also classroom projects that spark imagination and lead students toward graduation and a new career with computer graphics. Students are encouraged to use their own ideas and see them through completion with a campus that resembles a real world-working environment. The 7,500 square foot campus has five computer labs with three analog sculpture and drawing studios and an auditorium/theater. The atmosphere at Gnomon is one that pair’s research with a casual working environment. They easily achieve that with projects with video game research or movie watching and group interaction. Courses Gnomon has programs designed with visual effects as the forefront. The programs include entertainment design track, high-end CG certificate program, professional studies, and the Maya Fast Track 3D program. The college even offers online training with computer lectures, projects and professional instructor feedback and critique. The courses offered include digital, traditional, and online with 5 or 10-week durations. The Maya Fast Track courses take only 1 week. Each class specializes in character design, animation, and other visual effects necessities. From video games to animated films, Gnomon has a career path for all who want to be a part or make their mark on the visual effects industry.
