About the college

Diamonds are a girl’s best friend and a leader in the job market. Gems of all kinds are sold, bought, distributed, and tested for authenticity and someone has to be qualified to do all of these things. The Gemological Institute of America- Los Angeles is just the school to do this and more. This institute gave us the gem bible that all precious metals must pass fro inspection. The 4 C’s, as they are called, are color, cut, clarity, and carat weight.

Campus

The Gemological Institute of America-Los Angeles is located in Culver City, California. The state of California, especially LA, is in a love affair with all that sparkles. As the cliché goes, “Not all the sparkles is gold” and the institute is training individuals to spot these fakes before consumers go bankrupt buying sparkle and not authentic valuables. The Gemological Institute of America successfully classifies and grades diamonds, pearls and colored stones and gem treatments.

Courses

The main goal of coursework at the institute is to clarify precious metals and confirm authenticity. There are online classes offered. The Gemological Institute can even deliver education materials straight to your door. There are student workrooms and labs for real gems to exam and you get those delivered to you when you choose to work outside of the classroom. Lab classes can help students obtain graduate degree diploma in gemologist, diamonds, colored stones, or pearls.

The eye is as good as the hand and at the institute, this could not be more of a true statement. Precious metals are involved in an industry that gets richer by the day and you can be the one keeping the standard on high and rolling on to a bright and clear future.
