About the College
Fresno City College was opened in 1910 and became the first community college in California. The origin location of the school was on O Street but today is home on University Avenue. Fresno is home in central California only a short three hours from San Francisco.

Fresno City College hopes to meet the needs of life long learning to all that wish to succeed in their chosen career while assisting students in achieving their educational goals.

The college is based on what is known as a learner-centered institution, which means the school values providing not only an educational environment for students but also one that is cultural. This environment has proven to be one that accomplishes graduates that are successful, participate not only in college activities but community functions as well, accepts diversity, and are innovative individuals ready to begin their career.

On University Avenue, the buildings you will find on campus include the Administration Building, Old Administration Building, Cafeteria/Student Lounge, Gymnasium, Practice Gym, Student Center/Bookstore, Business Education, Social Sciences, Forum Hall, Student Services, Library, Tutorial Center, Learning Resources Center, Assessment Center, Language Arts, Art/Home Economics, Speech/Music, Applied Technology, Health Sciences, State Center Community College District Office, District Police Office, Theatre Arts, Humanities/Faculty Offices, Math/Science, Campus Service Center, Child Development Center, Fieldhouse, Ratcliffe Stadium, Academy, Euless Ball Park, CalWORKs, Veterans Peace Memorial, Soccer Field, Football Practice Field, Career Technology Center, and the Physical Performance Center.

Courses

Fresno City College offers a wide range of courses in the major divisions of Applied Technology, Business, Career and Technical Education, Fine, Performing and Communication Arts, Health Sciences, Humanities Division, Math, Science and Engineering, and Social Sciences. The college also offers special programs, training institute, and workforce development.

The school does not offer online courses, but does offer Online Academic Counseling Services along with a few other services such as financial aid and library resources.
