About the college

El Camino Community College District is a school dedicated to forming relationships with the community. El Camino has courses for first time freshman, returning students, high school students and adults re entering education and the work force. The school has been around for close to 60 years and they are still going strong today. They offer their students a diverse student body with rich academic programs and amazing athletic programs.

Campus

The city of Torrance in California is the home to El Camino Community College District. The campus at El Camino is dedicated to its students and their learning. There are Wi-Fi connections across the campus with state of the art computer labs. The main computer lab is located in the basement of the Schauerman library. There is even tutoring available for students in more than 25 different subjects. On the camps of El Camino, there is the Special Resources Center. The building is equipped with a high technology center that is capable of Braille, voice output and enlarged print with computer technology. The center also offers counseling services.

Courses

El Camino offers academic programs from listed from A to Z. The programs are divided into areas of interest that include behavioral/social sciences, business, fine arts, health sciences and athletics, humanities, industry and technology, learning resources, mathematical and natural sciences. El Camino also offers certificates of achievement and accomplishment in a variety of studies. Distance education with online courses are also available and students can study abroad too. An honors program can have students transfer their credits to a university to obtain a bachelor’s degree.
