About the college

The El Camino College- Compton Center was established in 1927. The school was founded as a part of the Compton Union High School District. Compton Community College is devoted to teaching its students and helping them to achieve their dreams in education and career. Student life at El Camino is the heart of the school. The students have school activities, campus activities, clubs, organizations like school government and social events to keep them busy and well educated.

The campus of Compton Community College is full of student activities as well as city life in Compton, California. The campus has course offered at this location and several others that are near by. Courses can be taken at the high school, private and public institutions, churches, recreation centers, and continuing education schools. El Camino offers its students a first year program, counseling services, and a transfer center for students to move on to a 4-year university. The campus also offers a library and amazing athletic programs.

Courses

Compton Community College has 5 academic programs. Each one offers students a degree, certificate, or transfer once completed. The programs are business and computer information systems, humanities, mathematics and natural science, social science/creative performing arts and technological studies, health education and physical education. Compton also offers a women in industry and technology program and vocational programs that allow students to work in the industry that they are studying. Students can also participate in distance learning with online courses, computer courses, classroom courses or a combination.
