About the college
Cal State Fullerton was the 12th college to be admitted by the state legislature. Two years later classes started and the college has not looked back. The faculty at Fullerton is quite extensive with close to 850 full time teachers and administrators and 1,300 part timers. The staff and students work closely together in research and understanding so that the students can gain the best in education. Campus The campus at Fullerton was once a large orange grove and now it is 236 acres of enriched learning potential. The campus is close by the Orange Freeway, State College Boulevard and the Southern California College of Optometry is just north of the college. Apartment buildings, shopping centers and parks adorn the campus. The buildings at the campus were constructed with the students in mind. Commuting from one class to another takes no more than 10 minutes. Housing is also available on site with a 440-bed student building that was added to the campus in 2002. Courses Degree programs at Fullerton offer students undergraduate, graduate, credentials and minors. Fullerton also offers freshmen programs that help students with their first year in college. Freshmen future nurse and teacher programs give students a learning community to thrive with other students that share the same goals. The honors program features smaller classes and opportunities to study abroad. Honors and recognition also is a top priority for the school and is given to students who meet the criteria. International education programs can set students up with study abroad programs and independent study all over the world. International programs give students the opportunity to study off campus and even have international scholars come and speak at the college. Extended education programs give everyone, at any age and stage in life, a chance to come back to school and learn. Off site and open campus helps with the process.
