About the college

Cal Poly Pomona is home to the Broncos and one of only six polytechnic universities nationwide. The university’s vision is to teach students through theory and practice to earn the skills necessary for a career in a multicultural world and job market. Their learning is hands on with the belief that being taught that way is the best way to succeed. Students that become graduates have the understanding of theory that leads them to critical thinking in real world settings.

Campus

The campus at Cal Poly Pomona offers its students social, academic, and volunteer opportunities. Students can choose to work on research with the faculty. Internships and community volunteer work are also part of a student’s life at the university. The campus is the second largest in area in the California State University System with 1,438 acres of land. Pomona is where Cal Poly can be found and it is a mere 30 miles away from the beautiful city of LA. The campus was originally the winter ranch home of cereal mogul W.K. Kellogg. Today the campus still houses his avocado groves, rose gardens, and Arabian horse ranch.

Courses

At Cal Poly Pomona, there are several college programs with varied areas of interest. There is a College of Agriculture for students who want to make food healthier or learn how food is grown. The College of Business Administration involves students in accounting, computer, and finance courses. The College of Education and Integrative Studies places students in courses that focus on liberal studies, Ethic and Women’s studies plus a couple more.
