About the college
The Associated Technical College in San Diego was founded in 1984. It was a branch of the Associated Technical College in Los Angeles and second to its founder in 1967 as Career Academy in Hollywood, California. The college is determined to provide students with hands on training for long lasting careers in the technology field. The programs offered are entry level learning with a commitment to the ever-changing and challenging job market. Campus The Associated Technical College is located in San Diego, California at 707 Broadway, Suite 300. The campus has “Free Standing” status and offers unbeatable technology education. Here at the college financial aid is available with Pell Grants and work-study programs. Job placement for students is a way for the school to help its graduates learn interviewing skills, resume writing skills, and job application completion, plus job search aids to a variety of companies that the college is working with to help students find employment. Courses Two divisions of the technology field are offered at the Associated Technical College. They are telecommunications and microcomputer technology. While these are the only fields offered, they can be broken down into various job opportunities. Telecommunications is exactly what it sounds likes. It is communication in a technology-based field. Computers run a lot in our lives, from medical devices to communicating and conducting business online. With this field, growing there has been an increase in jobs for those who can install, program, repair, and maintain the equipment for telecommunication. Microcomputer Technology has taken over the job field. As companies grow, the need for employees to be tech savvy is at an all time high. This includes typing, accounting, maintaining company data and desktop publishing. This course helps students prepare for a job with these skills intact.
