About the college
In 1902 Point Loma Nazarene University opened its doors to over 3000 students annually. When it was first founded, it was named Pacific Bible College. It went through many different names before it was christened Point Loma Nazarene University in 1998. They have five more campuses located in Arcadia, Bakersfield, Inland Empire, Mission valley, and San Diego. In defining Point Loma’s message there is a Bible encased in protective glass that belonged to Phineas and it is opened to Isaiah 62, Bresee claimed this chapter as the schools chapter. It has his fingerprints permanently on it. This is the message of being grounded by Scripture, and pursuing an education and serving the poor out of a first and intense love for God and His word. About the campus Point Loma has on campus housing to provide the students with a living learning environment to maximize the message of the college. There are rules that must be followed before moving into the residential Hall. You cannot bring any furniture, pillows, or beanbags that cannot fit into a dryer. This is your protection because of Bed Bugs that can be brought into the Hall by used furniture. You must read the rules and follow them. They have Microfridges that can be ordered for your room. You can rent them to hold your food and it also has a refrigerator, freezer, and a microwave. Therefore, you are getting three things in one. They have safes available that can hold your cell and laptop and charge while being securely inside. If you want to rent one you will have to let them know before you move in so they can have it ready for you when you get there. About the courses The course of Point Loma is mainly education, teaching, religion, and philosophy. Financial Aid is available.
