About the college
Mission College is a school devoted to the success of its students. The college prepares students for associate degrees, certificates or transfers to a 4-year university. They are behind you no matter what education pathway that you choose. Mission College started its long road to education success back in 1966 when 12 acres of land were purchased in Santa Clara. Construction for the campus started in 1979 and later that year and into 1980, the first classes were held. Campus The campus in Santa Clara, California holds the record for largest college attendance in the Francisco Bay Area. Training at the campus includes modern facilities, equipment that is up to date with the in demand job industries, well educated faculty and a fun and inviting atmosphere. The Santa Clara campus at Mission College is conveniently located by public transportation including the light rail and major highways. At the campus, students have an assessment center, transfer center, bookstore, various athletic programs and much, much more. Courses The courses at Mission College offer students a variety of departments and studies of interest to choose from. Programs offered are from A-Z with studies that include, but are not limited to accounting, anthropology, engineering, graphic arts, health occupations, sociology, and retail floristry. Mission College also offers a community education course as a pharmacy technician and grant funded programs in environmental training and tech prep. Certificates can also be earned at the college. Distance learning with online courses can be taken at the college as well. At Mission College, graduates have the opportunity to take the courses they worked so hard in and transfer to a 4-year university or make their mark in the workforce upon graduation.
