About the college

Western Seminary has history that dates all the way back to 1925 when the Portland Baptist Bible Institute was founded. A man by the name of Walter B. Hinson started the talk that later produced the seminary that is still teaching and training students today. One year later and talk began of a graduate level seminary. The community and Walter wanted theological education to be taught at the new seminary. Work got underway and the Western Seminary was born.

Campus

Sacramento, California is the site for one of the Western Seminary campuses. The city is a large one in California and it is the state capital. The campus is located in the heart of northern California in a site where there are numerous career opportunities in the workforce’s in demand industries. Sacramento is a city full of diversity, culture and local attractions throughout its large area. On campus, students have a library filled with research materials and a dedicated and well-educated faculty.

Courses

The courses at the Sacramento location are all faith based and train students for the future with their religious beliefs guiding them. The programs offer
Degrees upon completion, a diploma, or a certificate. There are four Master of Arts degrees in biblical and theological studies, specialized ministry, marital and family therapy and master of divinity. Biblical and theological studies the scriptures for a greater understanding of theology. Specialized Ministry involves scripture, theology and spiritual formation. Marital and family therapy focuses on each with clinical and biblical understanding.

Master of divinity is a training program for students who are looking to spend their time in ministry work. At Western Seminary in Sacramento, the possibilities are endless and the work is rewarding when you are living God’s word and spreading good deeds.
