The San Joaquin Valley College, SJVC, was founded in 1977 and there are several campuses located around the California area. Campus One San Joaquin Valley College campus is located in Modesto, California. The Modesto campus has a beautiful location with great weather year round and mountains and beaches in the distance. SJVC offers career education that not only increases the numbers of graduates in the community, but also strengthens the workforce and local businesses. Students get flexible scheduling with morning, afternoon and evening classes and short term programs so that graduates enter the workforce as soon as possible. Courses The Modesto campus offers career programs in technical fields as well as business and medical. The technical field requires working with machinery and students can take the industrial technology program and learn electrical theory, motor control and fluid power systems. Students will earn a certificate and can work towards an associate’s degree upon completion. Other programs offered include administrative health care management, business administration, criminal justice: corrections, clinical medical assisting, pharmacy technology and therapeutic massage. Each career driven program can lead to certificates of completion and associate degrees if students wish to continue to further their education.
