About the college

COBA Academy has been adding its beauty touch on the world since 1965. The skills learned at COBA can take graduates into a career in hair design, beauty, makeup, or as a nail technician. COBA Academy is recognized by beauty salons for high standards, the best training in ear piercing, hair cutting/style, nail care, and make up, and a dedication that shines from the faculty through the students and into the community.

Campus

COBA Academy is located in Orange, California. Admissions to the academy include a high school diploma or equivalent or the Ability to Benefit basis offered by the college. Jobs are posted at the academy since COBA has some of the beauty students and graduates in the field. COBA Academy offers beauty services to the community through its senior student stylists, make up artists and beauty techs.

Courses

The academy offers three areas of interest for students to study. They are cosmetology, esthetician, and teacher training. Each course has professional, hands on training. The cosmetology program has a required 1,600-clocked hours. The course can be completed in less than 10 months. The course involves demonstrations with lectures and hands on training of hair, nails, or skin. After you complete the freshman program, you can work on the salon floor with actual clients. The esthetician program is offered, but not available at this time.

Teacher training is a 600 clocked hour course. You train and work on the floor with students only after you are certified as a cosmetologist. The course is not being offered at this time. COBA Academy offers an “Above and Beyond” program with courses not offered anywhere else. Programs include advanced color techniques, nail art, ear piercing certificate clinic, hair styling artistry and other unique courses. COBA is a school designed for beauty and paired with your creativity the possibilities are endless.
