About the college

The history of chiropractics and its effect on the body and mind began with the Palmer family in 1897 with the Palmer School and Cure and later changed its name to the Palmer School of Chiropractic . In 1980, the west campus in California was established and the curriculum is rich in anatomy, physiology, diagnosis and neurology all which make the chiropractic field interesting and necessary.

At the Palmer College of Chiropractic West in San Jose offers students near by housing apartment options. The city of San Jose is the 11th largest city in the great state of California and the capital of Silicon Valley. The campus is also close to the city of San Francisco and all of the local attractions that the bay area has to offer. San Jose is full of outdoor activities thanks to the great climate, various sports teams, and the best safety record for a metropolitan area.

Courses

At the San Jose campus, students can learn the skills needed to become a leader in the chiropractic field. The college offers a doctor of chiropractic degree that can be completed in just over 3 years. That takes students at the San Jose campus 13 quarters to complete the course. At the school students learn through lectures and technique elective courses with diversified, Gonstead, Thompson-terminal point and other various techniques. The doctor program teaches the skills of chiropractic clinical evaluation, technique and movement, radiographic interpretation and problem solving with a difficult diagnosis.

Students at Palmer do get hands on training while observing in clinics, taking patient histories and participating in cadaver dissections. Palmer College is a leader in chiropractic history and education. If you want the best in the field, then this is where you go.
