About the College
Otis College of Art and Design was first started in 1918. General Harrison Gray Otis who is also the founder and publisher of the Los Angeles Times Magazine offered his home to the city for the college of arts. This was the campus location for almost 80 years. In 1997, the College got a new home at the Elaine and Bram Goldsmith Campus on the West side. The college resides on 115,000 square foot area. The college has grown so much over the years and is going strong to this day. The college is dedicated to enhance students of their creativity, skills, and their creative vision. Campus Otis College offers their students on campus housing. They house 96 out of their 1,157 full time students. Therefore, it is more of a first come first serve basses. If you cannot get on campus housing, there are apartments and houses around the area for students to rent while they are attending the campus. The campus also offers their students a Library, Computer Center, Lab Press, Lighting Studio, Metal Shop, Model Shop, Photography Lab, Printmaking Lab, Tool Crib, Video Lab, Wood Shop, Financial Aid, Student Services and much more. Otis College is dedicated to giving their students all the best facilities to get the best education. Courses Otis College of Art and Design gives their new students or student that want to continue their education great courses, programs, certificates, and degrees. Some of the ones they offer are Computer Graphics, Fashion Design, Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Illustration, Interior Design, Photography, Product Design, Textile/Surface Design, Professional Design, Writing, Young Artist Workshop and more.
