About the College
In 1979, Carol carpenter founded National Holistic Institute to provide a massage therapy education. It has become so popular it has grown to include four more campuses in San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Jose, and Petaluma. National Holistic Institute has become one of the most famous and largest massage schools. Their teaching clinic has over 1,000 clients a month to have these different methods of holistic procedure. National Holistic Institute was one of the first schools accredited for massage therapy in California. NHO has over an 80% placement rate for their graduates.
About the campus
Located in the heart of East bay between Oakland and Berkley, NHI is in a great location for the day life around the area. There are many different re-furbished warehouses and lifts for students along with many cafes, parks, and restaurants in the nearby vicinity. They do not have on campus housing but they do have lounges, kitchen areas, and library and career development centers. They provide help to out of town, state students who need housing. Books and materials provided to the students. You can speak with student services and they will give you a list of the different cafes in the area that provide some free meals to students and some discounts. The free meals are once a week so they are not abused.
About the courses
The main courses are Massage therapist and Health educator. You can go online and see the other sub categories for each and the student adviser will help you choose which classes you need to take for the career you have chosen. There is financial aid available to all the students who qualify for it. The degrees available at National Holistic Institute are the diploma. The total enrollment is around 500 students but has had more or less over the years.
