About the college

The Make up Designory has been a leader in the make up world since 1997. The school was founded by make up artists to share their knowledge with future graduates in the make up field. The Make up Designory, or MUD, has 2 campuses, one in California and one in New York. Both campuses are accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology. The school even has retail stores where books and MUD products are sold.

Campus

The Burbank campus is located north of downtown LA, a city full of creativity. The school’s main campus is located here. Having a campus close to downtown LA gives students close proximity to film and television studios, theatres, fashion centers and cosmetic retailers. The Burbank campus is 15,000 square feet with 11 spacious classrooms. Within the campus is a library and resource center, 2 photo studios, lounge and student facilities. Burbank, California is where the Hollywood magic happens and you can be a part of it at the campus.

Courses

MUD offers students full programs and individual courses. The programs do not require pre-requisites, but a hundred dollar fee must be paid. Students can take programs that include journeyman make up artistry, fashion make up artistry, master make up artistry, make up 2 programs and make up 3 programs. The individual courses offered give certificates upon completion. Students can take courses in beauty make up artistry, character make up artistry, special make up effects, studio hairstyling, portfolio development and airbrushing for the make up artist.

Makeovers and movie special effects make up can both be learned at the Make up Designory. Careers with make up as a background can take graduates far and paint the world as they go.
