About the college

Beauty schools are in high demand and Lyles is a leader in the field. The school gives students the skills necessary to pass the California state cosmetology exam and leave the school for salon careers. Their mission is to train students with the most current beauty techniques so that once students graduate they are at the top of their field. Training at the school is hands on with students getting to perform cosmetic procedures on people from the community once required coursework has been completed.

Campus

Fresno, California is the home for the Lyles campus. Having California as the location for a campus gives students mountains and beaches within a short drive and great weather for an abundance of outdoor activities. The campus offers students academic and career counseling, career placement services upon graduation and a library for beauty technique information and research. The admission policy at the college is open with financial aid options to those who qualify.

Courses

The programs offered at Lyles are divided into 5 beauty specific fields. They are general cosmetology, nail technician, aesthetician/esthetician, cosmetology/personal grooming, cosmetology/barber/styling and nail instructor. Each program has a required number of clocked worked hours for completion. The program with the highest hours is general cosmetology with 1600. The nail technician and cosmetology/personal grooming programs only require 400-clocked hours for completion.

Within each program there are valuable skills that can take graduates into the workforce and salon careers working as hair stylists, make up artists, nail technician or skin care professionals. Graduates can even work their way all the way up the beauty ladder to owning their own salon.
