Laney College encourages their students to become member citizens of the world and hard working people in the future. The college has a focus for their students and makes sure there are Respect, Integrity, Innovation, Competence, Diversity, Collaboration, Appreciation, and Accountability. With these words, the school runs strong and gives their students the best they deserve while they are attending the college. Laney College is located in Oakland California and is a two-year college institute. If you are looking to attend this college then you are looking in the right direction. Laney College also is involved in sports. They have their own team called the Eagles. This gives students different activities to enjoy.
Campus:
Laney College does not offer on campus housing but there are apartments and houses nearby the campus that students can rent while they are attending college. Laney College offers sport activities so the campus holds a football field, baseball field, softball field, tennis courts, a gym, and a pool. The campus has a childcare center, student center with a cafeteria, a library, an on campus bookstore, theater and art center. The campus also offers students parking and they also have disability parking for handicap students. The campus sets on a 60-acre area so there is plenty of room. The campus also offers financial aid and counseling to help students get on their way.
Courses:
Laney College offers a variety of programs for their students to give them choices. The schools programs are designed to provide General Education, Career Technical education, Transfer Education, Basic Skills Education and Cooperative Work Experience Education. Some of the programs they offer are Anthropology, Art, Athletics, Biology/Life Science, Business, Carpentry, Ceramics, Chemistry, Computer Information Systems, Cosmetology, Dance, Culinary Arts, Ethnic Studies, Geography/Geology, Graphics Arts, Health Education, Labor Studies, Library Services, Physics, Police Services, Sociology, Theater Arts, Welding Technology, Journalism, Music and much more. Laney College offers students to transfer to a four-year college after graduation.
