About the college

The East San Gabriel Valley Regional Occupational Program and Technical Center offers its student’s career based education and technical skills. Their education trains students for new careers or advancement in their current careers. The school wants their students to succeed in their chosen field of study and become productive students of the community. The Regional Occupational Program puts East San Valley into a category of over 70 schools in California that offers those types of programs.

Campus

Classes for the Regional Occupational Program, or ROP, are located in West Covina, California. The courses can be taken at local high schools, businesses, and industry sites. Because of the location, the training is hands on and provides students with real world job experience. The campus provides high school students technical classes to pair with their high school curriculum and also adults can take the courses and then transfer to a university or go directly into the workforce. The courses even offer students internships and employment seeking skills such as resume and interview preparation.

Courses

East San Gabriel Valley offers a variety of career pathways for their students to choose to excel in and use in the competitive workforce. Students can study arts and communication, business, health services, marketing, public services, and technology in career based programs. The school shows high school students what courses they should take while in school and then what ROP courses they should continue with to achieve a desired career goal. They also provide the career pathway outlook for employment in various fields and in the community.
