About the college

Cerritos College in California is a learning institution dedicated to being a part of your education and future. The college was founded in 1955 and is a leader in community colleges across the state of California. The diverse student body at Cerritos offers its students a unique learning experience with 60 percent of the students being of a minority group. That includes Native Americans, Asians, Hispanics, Pacific Islanders, and African Americans.

Campus

The campus at Cerritos College is located in Norwalk, California. The school occupies an area of 52 square miles. Public transportation is vital to the students of Cerritos and there are plenty of options to choose from. The city of Norwalk has bus systems and there is also a Norwalk Metro Greenline station. Life on the campus is full of student activities and services. There are off campus career and college fairs, College Night and Senior Preview Day. The college’s marquee sign can be used by students for brief messages. There is also an online calendar of events for students to find and post upcoming events.

Courses

Cerritos offers new students and returning students an opportunity to find the courses that best fit their interest. The departments offered include courses in business education, fine arts/communication, health occupations, physical education and athletics, humanities/social sciences, liberal arts, science, engineering and mathematics and technology with distance education. Cerritos also offers online courses. There is a variety of courses to choose from when students choose online classes for learning. Some include anthropology, journalism, law, music, and theatre.
