About the college
Brooks Institute was founded in 1945. The mission to students through hands based education. The school prepares its students for a career in professional photography and does so with the best faculty. The institute has various programs to help its students achieve success. They offer professional photography, film and video production, visual journalism and graphic design. Their ideals are simple: succeed with the visual arts. Campus The Santa Barbara campus is divided into 3 and is located in Santa Barbara, California. The campus names are Jefferson, Mason, and Cota Street. The Brooks Institute can be found at 27 E. Cota Street. All of the campus are within 5 miles of each other and have amazing features like six digital labs, 30 studios, and a million dollars worth of state of the ark equipment. Jefferson is referred to as the “cove” which is a real world set up for a photo shoot. Mason has an abundance of tools for students to use on and off campus, like cameras and camcorders. Cota Street one of the city’s largest galleries and a great place for visual education. Courses Brooks Institute offers its students four areas of interest to choose from. They are school of photography, school of visual journalism, school of film and school of design. Being that Brooks is one of the photography schools, its photography programs are quite extensive. The degree program is broken down into six areas including digital imaging photography, portraiture, advertising photography and a few others. The careers are endless with education of this caliber. The school loves to create what has not yet been created. Brooks Institute is a school of imagination, skill, and drive. Students will get to be part of the visual future.
